The twentieth edition of the European Schools Science Symposium (ESSS) took place at EEB1 from 6 to 9 April. Four teams selected last November (two juniors, two seniors for a total of nine pupils) represented EEB4 with projects developed over the last few months.

Our pupils’ projects:
Biodegradable hydrogels: ‘A solution for watering and plant growth’ by Kaloyan G. and Mario N. from S2 BGa, mentored by Ms Nevena Kalpakova.
Vertical farm by Larisa Stefania V. from S2 RO, mentored by Ms Gabriela Palaghiciuc.
Impact of polyethylene (PE) on plant growth and the nitrogen cycle by Izabela N. from S6 FRa, Maia P. from S6 ROa and Cristian H. from S7 RO, mentored by Mr Olivier Clemence and Mr Benoit Faidherbe. This team won the Bronze Prize.
Our samara drone: ‘When nature falls, innovation takes off’, by Mona B, Arno B and Mona S from S7 FRb, mentored by Mr Olivier Clemence. This team won the Gold Prize… and a ticket to represent our school at the EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) in autumn in Riga, Latvia.
Sixteen European Schools (ES) took part in this inter ES event which is organised in rotation each year by a different school.
We congratulate the pupils and warmly thank the mentor-teachers who helped them prepare for the Symposium.
