DELF-DALF Certifications

The EEB4 has signed an agreement with the Alliance Française of Brussels. It aims at facilitating the procedures for the certification of the level of the pupils and the pedagogical team of the school.

Pupils have the opportunity to validate their language skills by taking the DELF-DALF language proficiency exams.

The exams are harmonised on the scale of the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).

The diplomas (DELF, DALF) are independent and sanction the mastery of the four language skills (written and oral comprehension, written and oral expressoin). They are valid for life, with no time limit.


DELF A2

DELF A2 validates your language skills as a basic user, considered as a social actor. You must be able to carry out daily simple tasks. You are able to use the most common forms of politeness and exchange of information

Structure of the exam:

  • tests in group (1h40) which include oral comprehension (0h25), written comprehension (0h30) and written expression (0h45) exercises;
  • An individual test which takes place in 3 parts: preparation (0h10), oral presentation (6 to 8 min.) composed of a directed interview, a monologue and an interactive exercise.

DELF B1

DELF B1 validates your language skills as an independent user. You are able to continue interaction. You can understand and continue a discussion, give your opinion and your views. You are able to cope with unexpected situations in everyday life.

Structure of the exam :

  • 3 tests in group (1h45) which include oral comprehension (0h25), written comprehension (0h35) and written expression (0h45) exercises;
  • 1 individual test which takes place in 2 parts: preparation of the expression of a point of view (0h10), oral presentation (0h15) composed of a directed interview, an exercise in interaction and an expression of point of view based on written documents, debate with the jury.

DELF B2

DELF B2 tests your ability to argue to defend your opinion, develop your point of view and negotiate. At this stage, you must be at ease in social discourse and be able to correct your mistakes yourself.

Structure of the exam:

  • Tests in group (2h30) which include oral comprehension (0h30), written comprehension (1h) and written expression (1h) exercises;
  • An individual test which consists of two parts: preparation (0h30), oral presentation (0h20) consisting of a monologue based on written documents, debate with the jury.

Each test is marked out of 25 points, the total is 100 points. You must reach at least 50/100 (50%) to pass. The minimum mark required per test is 5/25
