Pupils’ Council

The Pupils’ Council meets regularly to represent the ideas and opinions of all the pupils within the primary cycle. They work alongside with other members of the school community to maintain and improve their school environment helping thus to make it the kind of school where everyone’s opinion is important.

Representation

Representatives from p3, p4 and p5 classes are elected every school year. They represent their section and will act as messengers between the pupils, the teachers and the management. They election is anonymous and takes place in each class.

Pupils who wish to be part of the Council and run as candidates must prepare a campaign, either by form of speech, poster, logo, etc. and present this to their fellow pupils.

Aims of the Pupils’ Council

  • To offer pupils the opportunity to express their views, their opinions and their wishes;
  • To give pupils a chance to make changes for the better in our school;
  • To empower pupils to take more responsibility in the school;
  • To help make our school a better place to learn, live and play;
  • To run smooth communication;
  • To provide an opportunity for everyone to take part in developing school routines and values;
  • To discuss ideas and think of possible solutions.

Organisation

Once it is elected, the Council visits every class to introduce its members. It meets every three weeks under the supervision of the teachers who are part of the project.

Working Groups

The Council has organised three working groups: the Green Crew, the KiVa Kids Club and the Media Team.
