Music Project in Secondary
In the European Schools curriculum, the music course can be taken from S1 until S7.
The Orchestra & The Choir
The orchestra and choir project is a music initiative that is organised in S1-S3. In principle the pupils engage themselves for three years to be part of the group, once they enter in s1.
The orchestra meets each week for two additional periods (during the school day) on top of the regular music classes. The choir only meets one extra period per week. Although they work as three groups, the winds, strings and choir, the schedule is put together in such a way that there is room for full orchestra-and choir classes/rehearsals.
Traditionally the orchestra and choir play with Christmas and Sommerfesto. A program which we hope to expand in the future. We have also established contact and already had an exchange with the orchestra of the European School of Alicante. We hope to organise this again in the future, likewise we are looking at exchanges with other European Schools.
As a special project we recorded a Christmas CD which was very well received.
