Pupils enrolled in s5 have the possibility to follow a training to obtain the Brevet d’Initiation Aéronautique (BIA). Our school is the first European School to organise such training. This certificate attests to a first level of knowledge and theoretical skills in aeronautics.

Pupils enroll on a voluntary basis and commit to follow a training course of 40 periods from September to May (two periods per week). The courses cover all areas of aviation: Meteorology, flight physics, aircraft structure and classification, navigation and history. The examination usually takes place in May.

The training is carried by EEB4 teachers. Some of the lectures are given by professionals in the sector, in particular by a helicopter pilot from the French Air Force.

Next to the theoretical courses, pupils can take part in fields visits, such as at Sabena Aerospace.
