Flea Market
In May, the Primary school organizes its annual flea market. This activity is designed for pupils from all linguistic sections to practice Mathematics in a fun way.
Pupils take turns managing the sale, putting their knowledge of the Mathematics into practice: Calculating the due amount of a sale, the change that has to be given back to the buyer, the revenue generated by the sale, etc. On the other side of the stall, pupils juggle between estimating and negotiating the cost of a toy or a book.
Items – small toys, books – brought by the pupils must be in good shape, something other children will enjoy and fit in a shoe box. Homemade cakes and treats can also be part of the sale.
Some of the funds raised during this event will be shared with a charity while the rest will be used to improve the school playground and green areas of the school.
