Extract of criminal record model 596-2

If you are applying for a job at our school, we strongly recommend that you anticipate the administrative steps and request your criminal record certificate model 596-2 in advance.

The document can be handed over to the selection committee at the interview or, even better, sent with the application documents.

Anyone who is to work with children must provide an extract from the criminal record (formerly known as the Certificat  de bonne vie et mœurs – Model 2): “A model intended for the exercise of an ‘activity which falls within the scope of education, psycho-medico-social guidance, youth assistance, child protection, animation or supervision of minors’ (Article 596, paragraph 2, of the Code of Criminal Procedure)“.

In addition, the OSGES legal department advised foreign employees to apply for their criminal records in their country of origin (and not in their host country). For example: A Belgian employee working abroad should apply to the Belgian authorities, not to the authorities of the country where he or she will be working.
