Events

School Clubs

Every school year, various clubs are being organised within the school during the lunch breaks and in the late afternoon. These clubs are organised by volunteering teachers and librarians. Signing up is free, however each pupil who enrols in a club must commit and participate regularly and seriously. Information in relation to enrolment is send to the pupils and their parents at the beginning of the school year.


13 Stars – Newspaper Club

Created and run by the pupils, the EEB4 Newspaper club is part of the 13Stars newspaper, which is a “Student-run independent newspaper of the 13 European Schools. A CoSup project.

Art Club

The art club allows each pupil, of all grades and ages, to share their creations and works in a supportive and friendly environment. There is no judgement, only observation. There is no criticism, but encouragement. Finally, there is no competition, it is simply a shared passion.

Book Club

The book club involves pupils from s1 to s4. It aims at introducing new books and genres to pupils, authors they wouldn’t usually read, but also to develop they critical thinking skills and enhance their autonomy when it come to choosing a book.


Darts Club

The club helps bring people together who have a common interest and enjoyment in darts or who are simply curious about how throwing darts at a board feels. Its doors are always open to new pupils, allowing them to join whenever they want. Members meet every Thursday and occasionally have darts competitions with another school, St. Johns. Participating in this club has taught pupils the value of focus and communication.


Free-to-be-me

The club aims at encouraging mutual respect among pupils through concrete actions (shows, exhibitions, school events). It also aims at raising awareness about various topics such as diversity, discrimination and marginalization, so that each pupil feels accepted as they are, as a significant member of the school community.


MUN

Model United Nations (MUN) is a political role-playing activity in which pupils and students act as delegates (representatives) from UN member states and simulate UN committees where current and historical issues are debated. Such activities take place at MUN conferences, which are organized by many schools and universities.


Radio Europa Laeken

Radio Europa Laeken is a radio production and media education tool. It is an open window on the world of the media and news reporting. Pupils have the opportunity to issue a chronicle, carry an interview, write and present an opinion piece, report on the field or even produce podcasts.
