At the European School of Brussels IV (EEB4), we are proud to be part of the Erasmus+ project FinEdu – Financial Education for Youth, an international partnership dedicated to equipping young people with the financial knowledge and skills they need to navigate an increasingly complex world.

The project brings together educational partners from Belgium, Poland, Romania, Luxembourg, and Italy, united by a common goal: helping young people become financially responsible, informed, and confident citizens.

What We Have Achieved So Far

During the first phase of the project, our international team worked collaboratively to design and develop a comprehensive set of educational materials focused on key aspects of financial literacy. These resources address topics such as budgeting, saving, responsible spending, financial planning, consumer awareness, and informed decision-making.

To ensure the successful implementation of these materials, a teacher training programme was organised, allowing educators from the partner countries to exchange experiences, learn innovative teaching approaches, and prepare to bring financial education into their schools.

At EEB4, we have successfully implemented the project through our Financial Education Clubs, where students actively engage with practical activities, discussions, simulations, and real-life financial scenarios. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by our students have demonstrated the importance and relevance of financial education in today’s society.

Building the Future: The Next Phase

The project is now entering an exciting new stage.

Our partners are currently developing an interactive online learning platform that will make financial education accessible, engaging, and flexible for young people across Europe. This digital platform will provide students and teachers with innovative resources, interactive activities, and opportunities for self-directed learning.

In parallel, we are creating a series of educational videos based on real-life financial situations. These videos will encourage students to think critically by presenting open-ended questions and practical challenges that stimulate discussion, reflection, and problem-solving.

By combining technology, interactive learning, and real-world applications, we aim to make financial education more attractive and meaningful for young learners.

Reaching More Young People

One of our key objectives for the coming months is dissemination. We want to ensure that the valuable resources developed through the FinEdu project reach as many young people, teachers, schools, and educational communities as possible.

Through workshops, presentations, social media campaigns, online resources, and international collaboration, we will continue to share the project’s outcomes and inspire a wider audience to embrace financial education as an essential life skill.

Looking Ahead

Financial literacy is no longer optional—it is a fundamental competence for active participation in modern society. Through the Erasmus+ FinEdu project, we are helping young people develop the confidence and knowledge they need to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.

At EEB4, we are delighted to contribute to this important initiative and look forward to sharing more updates as the online platform, educational videos, and new learning opportunities become available.

Stay tuned as we continue our journey towards empowering the next generation through financial education!
